Bucs running backs coach Tim Spencer can lend a little extra insight into second-round pick Noah Spence, the defensive end who spent his first three seasons of college football at Ohio State, as a teammate of Bucs receiver Evan Spencer, the coach’s son. RELATED NEWS/ARCHIVE The elder Spencer was pleased to see the Bucs draft Spence with the 39th overall pick, having watched him more closely than most coaches because of his personal interest in the Buckeyes while he was there. “I loved him,” Spencer said. “Speed off the edge, one of those guys who’s a specialist and can make plays. … It was just unfortunate obviously (getting dismissed from Ohio State). But he was a heck of a player. I look forward to (him) helping our team. He should do well.” Spencer said he didn’t have much personal interaction with Spence when he was in college, but has done so in the month since the draft and has been impressed after the conversations they’ve had. “He’s a pleasant young man,” Spencer said. “I didn’t get to talk to him much, but I get to talk to him now, to find out what type of kid he is.”
