Ohio State Strangely Uses Tim Tebow Picture, Quote In Tweet//

Ohio State football’s official Twitter account used a picture and quote of former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow in a rather strange tweet. It is widely known that Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and his former quarterback at Florida, Tim Tebow, have a close relationship. However, the Buckeyes athletic department has taken that friendship a bit far.In an odd tweet from the official Ohio State football Twitter account, there is a picture of Tebow with a quote from him, along with the words “Winning championships. The only goal. #GoBucks.” Wait just a second. This is the same Tebow that helped the Gators defeat Ohio State in the 2007 BCS National Championship game, correct? Who would think this is a great idea? Despite winning the national title two years ago, I’m sure many in Columbus still have deep disdain for Tebow and Florida.Using the words of a player that you coached at another school is a cheap ploy. Hasn’t Meyer coached some great Buckeyes since arriving in Columbus whom he could have used instead? The athletic department at least should realize what a below-the-belt jab this is at its fans.Let’s hope Ohio State wises up and stops trying to make “Tebow a Buckeye” happen – no matter how badly Meyer may want Tebow to dot the “i” and sing Carmen Ohio.MORE: Ohio State’s Alternate Uniforms For 2016 An Homage To 1916 Title Team
