No FNL for No. 1 D-tackle, but Buckeyes remain in good shape

The country’s No. 1 class of 2018 defensive tackle, Taron Vincent from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG, worked out at one of the Buckeyes’ 1-Day Position Camps in mid-June. As one would expect, Vincent spent quite a bit of time with Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson on the field. He also spoke with Johnson, Urban Meyer and some of the other coaches off field as well. “I talked to coach Meyer before and after the camp,” Vincent said. “Coach Meyer talked about how 2017 is going to be big for Ohio State and he wants 2018 to be big also. All the coaches said my personality would fit in good (at Ohio State).” Vincent already has well over two dozen scholarship offers including Ohio State, Florida State, UCLA, Wisconsin, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Nebraska and Texas. Vincent has consistently told Bucknuts.com Ohio State is either his leader or one of his top two or three choices. That has not changed. “Ohio State, Florida State and UCLA are my top three,” Vincent said. So when would Vincent like to select a college? “I think at the end of my junior season I’ll decide,” Vincent said. Vincent plans to make it back to Ohio State, but it won’t be for Friday Night Lights later this month. “I don’t think I’ll be able to be at that,” Vincent said.
