Buckeye commits speak out on The Opening and recruiting there


The Buckeyes had 11 of their 14 class of 2017 commitments selected for The Opening and 10 were in Oregon for the event last week (Jake Moretti was not because of his knee injury). Bucknuts has comments from a number of them on what the experience was like and if they were recruiting otherd to join them in the Buckeyes’ class. We also have tweets from some of the Buckeyes’ commitments too. Josh Myers: “It was awesome. To be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations. The biggest thing was the bonding with all the Ohio State commitments. We’re all busy, but being all together out there we had a lot of time and it was great getting to know each other and bond. I got to know Wyatt Davis a lot better. Also Haskell (Garrett), I knew him, but I got to know him better. And I talked to two (non-commits) – the two the most because they were easiest to talk with were Lamont Wade and Chase Young. I talked to Chase Young the most of any of them.” Antjuan Simmons: “It was amazing. The best experience of my life so far. Big shout out to God, my mom and everyone at Nike. No camp compares or can even compete with The Opening.” Brendon White: “It was a great experience, building that bond with the other Ohio State commitments and all and developing a chemistry. I found out what we like and dislike when I talked to everyone. I talked to Haskell Garrett, I talked to a non-commit Amir Riep a lot. He hung around the Ohio State commitments a lot.
