Ohio State's dismissal of Bri'Onte Dunn means it's Mike Weber time


The Ohio State Buckeye’s 2016 football season is quickly approaching, with summer practice set to commence soon, and the Bucks had to dismiss a player Monday. That player is running back Bri’Onte Dunn, who was said to be in competition with redshirt freshman Mike Weber (5’10” 215 lbs) for the open starting position left by now Dallas Cowboys running back, Ezekiel Elliot. Dunn was a fifth-year senior–who had already graduated–meaning he will be eligible to transfer to another school and play immediately. What Dunn’s dismissal ultimately means is that Buckeye fans should become familiar with the name Mike Weber because he is inevitably going to be the starting running back for the Ohio State football team. For the casual Buckeye fan who isn’t familiar with Weber’s background, he was a top-10 running back recruit in the 2015 class from Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. He rushed for 2,268 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior, and was widely considered to be the best back in the state of Michigan.
