Big Ten writers expect OSU to wear football crown


By Jeff Potrykus of the Journal Sentinel Updated: 11:47 a.m. 0 Madison – Ohio State has been picked to reign over all other Big Ten football teams in 2016.The Buckeyes were the overwhelming favorite to win the league title according to 39 writers who cover the Big Ten – despite seeing 12 players selected in the 2016 NFL draft, including five in the first round, and losing 16 starters overall from last season. The poll was compiled by Doug Lesmerises of Cleveland.com.Twenty-seven of the voters chose the Buckeyes to win the championship game on Dec. 3 in Indianapolis.Michigan was tabbed by 11 voters to win the league title. Iowa, the overwhelming favorite in the West Division, received one vote.Wisconsin was picked by two writers to win the West and was projected to finish third in the division, behind Iowa and Nebraska.
