Ezekiel Elliott is the Devil- Temporarily

I’m sure everyone has now heard the news. Ezekiel Elliott, a fourth overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys with the number one selling jersey among NFL rookies is in big trouble because is accused of beating his girlfriend up. This is a big deal everyone.

Listen up. I’m sitting in my workplace lunch cafe when a co-worker shouts: “Zeke is in big trouble”. When I heard him say that in my mind I was like: “yeah right”. Not Zeke. He’s a good dude.

Why did I say this. It’s not like I hang with Zeke and drink some brews regularly on the weekend. I’m definitely not that cool. But, for some reason, my brain immediately dismissed the report. Is this right? I don’t know. But, I tend to think that I am usually a good judge of character. Not a perfect judge of character, but a good one.

Not Zeke though. Not my running back who ran all over Alabama. Not the guy who ran all over Michigan. Zeke has a great family with high integrity. This can’t be true. Well maybe it is but I’m just an Ohio State homer who has a hard time facing reality.

I’m sorry folks, but I’m calling B.S…. I just want to get my opinion out there. Because it seems correct in this situation. I know I’m being a typical sports fan who is delusional. I know I may be offending every woman who has suffered at the hands of cowards who put their hands on women. Who are in constant fear of speaking up because they don’t feel like they have a voice. I’m very sensitive to this subject. I have witnessed close loved ones who have suffered through domestic abuse, but I couldn’t do anything because I was a young child. Nothing is worse than witnessing such a despicable act. Why is this occurring more frequently? Because our society is failing. There are those who have no respect towards Women. Just listen to some of the music out there. It’s a culture. It’s wrong. And it’s real.

So I’m saying this, if Zeke did it I will have lost all respect for him as a man. To hit a woman is the biggest offense to me other than harming children. Is it equally wrong in our society that some may target those who have wealth and try to “ruin them”? What if there is someone out there who is upset because a high powered person breaks up with them? So, they will fabricate a story to possibly get money. Are people really that vicious? I’m sure that element exists. Nothing is suprising anymore. It just seems like guilty before innocent in our society as well. That is why someone can say something and it is all over every major sports story in the entire country. Instant news and a competition for website traffic seems to be the wave of journalism. It’s a sad reality that we are all victims of. So at this point and time I must say I will hope that justice is served in either way. If Zeke did it then shame on him and he should be penalized to the highest degree possible. But, if he didn’t do it, I hope there is some way that the accuser can be held accountable as well.

Hopefully justice will be served no matter what.
