Pace overwhelmed by gold jacket ceremony

For six months, the 1994 Sandusky graduate has been able to process that he was going to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton today. But Thursday night, the moment overwhelmed the 6-foot-7, 300-plus pound left tackle who starred for the St. Louis Rams following his seven years at Sandusky and Ohio State. Pace was introduced through a gauntlet of returning Hall of Famers wearing their gold jackets at the Canton Civic Center. “That was the first time I realized, ‘This is it. I’m going into the HOF,’” Pace said during Hall of Fame media day Friday. “I got Bruce Smith, Cris Carter, Jerry Rice … I can’t believe I’m here walking through these guys. I’m an equal to these guys, now I’m part of this team.
