Oklahoma football: Sooners prepare for tough task of slowing Ohio State offense

NORMAN — Steven Parker attended Oklahoma for just this opportunity. On Saturday, the junior safety will join teammates and line up against mighty Ohio State in one of this college football season’s most anticipated games.  “This is definitely a game I came here for,” said Parker, a Jenks High School graduate. “Just being an in-state guy, (this is) something that I’ve dreamed about my whole life.” Oklahoma’s defense will be tested by the No. 3 Buckeyes, who have trampled through Bowling Green (77-10) and Tulsa (48-3).  Oklahoma’s defensive staff received a blueprint in a 33-23 season-opening loss to Houston. Ohio State uses many of the same concepts as the Cougars, who are guided by Houston head coach and former Buckeyes offensive coordinator Tom Herman. Getting a look could benefit the Sooners. “They have a lot of similarities, of course,” OU coach Bob Stoops said. “Each will do a few things a little bit different, but overall there’s a lot of carryover. “You’ve practiced against it quite a bit and you have a chance to hopefully make some adjustments from it, as well.” Herman recruited current Ohio State quarterback J.T.
