You can see our newest rankings below, determined by our cleveland.com Ohio State coverage team trying to place ourselves in the shoes of real committee members and figure out a top six. Those rankings don’t reflect the Buckeyes as the top team in the playoff rankings right now, but it’s close and one of our members made a compelling argument for why they should be No. 1. The point of this exercise is to try as much as we can to not project, but rather evaluate these teams based on the available information. It’s also to give you an idea of how the playoff race is shaping up leading up to the first real rankings in November, if you care about such things.
