Penn State just block-sixed an Ohio State field goal to take a stunning lead in Happy Valley

Penn State and No. 2 Ohio State are still playing football on Saturday night, but Penn State just turned in one of the season’s most thrilling plays. Ohio State had a 21-17 lead with less than five minutes to play. The Nittany Lions blocked the Buckeyes’ field goal attempt, and Grant Haley scooped it and ran it the length of the field for a touchdown. 24-21, Penn State, on one of the plays of the year. And you can’t hear it in that GIF, but Beaver Stadium was tossed into an absolute frenzy. This was a whale of a college football moment. It’s been a fairly remarkable game, with a bunch of twists and turns, and this was merely the most serious of those. Ohio State scored the first 12 points of the evening and had a 21-7 lead in the second half, but Penn State has now battled all the way back, throwing the ball into J.T. Barrett’s court.
