Shaun Wade, a five-star Ohio State commit, to officially visit Virginia Tech on Saturday: Buckeye Breakfast

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Alabama was supposed to be Ohio State’s biggest competition in the Buckeyes’ battle to hold onto five-star cornerback Shaun Wade of Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity.  Alabama isn’t the only threat.  Wade’s father, Randy, told Landof10.com that his son is officially visiting Virginia Tech this weekend.  Rated the No. 4 cornerback in the 2017 recruiting class in the 247Sports composite rankings, Wade officially visited Ohio State this past weekend for its 62-3 win over Nebraska. Reports have indicated that he had a positive experience, so take this as the 6-foot-1, 177-pound prospect making a decision to look around to ensure his commitment is Ohio State is the right one.  Wade is also scheduled for an official visit to Alabama on Nov. 26 for the Auburn game. That’s the same day Ohio State is hosting Michigan for perhaps its second major recruiting weekend of the season.  Given Wade is perhaps Ohio State’s most elite commitment in the 2017 class, it’s going to make for an uncomfortable month for Urban Meyer.  But top prospects looking around?
