Buckeye Football Notebook: 'We've all been waiting for that to happen'


COLUMBUS — The Buckeyes went into last Saturday’s game against Nebraska as 17.5-point favorites, which had a lot of people scoffing because they weren’t exactly sure how the Ohio State offense would be capable of scoring enough points to secure that kind of victory. Obviously, the OSU offense found a way, scoring 45 points on their own, and then having two more touchdowns added by the defense. For Urban Meyer, those 45 points and the subsequent 590 yards of total offense were actually a relief. “It is a little relief to know that right now I saw some explosiveness that we kind of have been lacking in some positions,” Meyer said this week. “And I think relief is probably the correct word, that we’ve all been waiting for that to happen. And no better time than the month of November to get that thing going.” What is Meyer referring to when he mentions explosiveness? “Skill set, the offensive skill,” he explained. “We’ve not been explosive at receiver this year.
