Alabama jumps Ohio State for top 2017 recruiting class after commitment from four-star OT Jedrick Wills

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State has been on top of the college football recruiting world since Urban Meyer arrived in 2012, but the Buckeyes have still been a half-step behind Alabama.  In the 2017 recruiting cycle, though, it seemed as if Ohio State was finally primed to do something Meyer has never done with the Buckeyes: Sign the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. Alabama has done that repeatedly.  The Crimson Tide may do it again.  Alabama passed Ohio State to take over the No. 1 spot on Tuesday when it earned a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Jedrick Willis of Lexington (Ky.) Lafayette, according to the 247Sports composite team rankings.  The rankings are kind of skewed because Alabama has 22 commitments and Ohio State’s class only has 17, so that could be an indication that the Buckeyes have superior players pledged.
