Ohio State DC Luke Fickell a strong candidate again for FAU opening: Buckeye Breakfast

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Silly season is beginning, and Ohio State football assistants are going to be hot names for some head coaching jobs that come available. Luke Fickell, the Buckeyes linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator, is once again considered a strong candidate for the head coaching job at Florida Atlantic, which fired coach Charlie Partridge on Sunday. Fickell was considered for the opening back in 2013, when FAU hired Partridge. Reports surfaced then that Fickell had interviewed for the opening in November of 2013, but Urban Meyer denied those reports. The athletic director at FAU is Pat Chun, who spent 15 years in Ohio State’s athletic department before moving to FAU in 2012. Fickell served as the Buckeyes interim head coach in 2011 while Chun was still in Columbus.
