Ohio State running back Mike Weber has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett, Pat Elflein and Mike Weber all picked up individual awards from the Big Ten. Barrett ranks No. 3 in the Big Ten in total offense with 272.9 yards per game and has accounted for 33 total touchdowns. He also hauled in 20 receptions for 87 yards and totaled nine touchdowns. During the season, Barrett became Ohio State’s all-time touchdown pass leader (69) and all time leader in touchdowns responsible for (100). Elflein, who chose to return to Ohio State instead of entering the National Football League draft previous year, switched from guard to center and he has anchored a solid Buckeye offensive line.
