COLUMBUS, Ohio — Between 2005 and 2010, Ohio State football won six straight Big Ten championships. In the six years since, the Buckeyes have won two. While they have emerged as a dominant and consistent force on the national scene, an odd combination of events has led the Buckeyes to serve as a bystander more often than not for the showcase game of the conference they control. Weird, right? Back when the Big Ten announced a championship game would begin with 2011 season, I noodled around a lot with the past, looking back to see what a title game for the league would have looked like.
