Ohio State's Curtis Samuel, Pat Elflein, Malik Hooker Named Sporting News All-Americans

Three of Ohio State’s top players – two on offense and one on defense – were named first team All-Americans by The Sporting News on Thursday morning while two more made the second team. Junior H-back Curtis Samuel, fifth-year senior center Pat Elflein and sophomore safety Malik Hooker earned first team honors while junior right guard Billy Price and junior linebacker Raekwon McMillan were on the second team. Samuel’s selection was as an “athlete” while Elflein and Hooker earned the nod at their respective positions. Samuel is also a finalist for the Chicago Tribune Silver Football award, which is give to the Big Ten’s MVP each year. He was named a first team all-conference receiver after finishing second in the Big Ten with 65 receptions to go with 822 yards and seven touchdowns through the air.
