Ohio State Football: Torrance Gibson Transfers To Junior College To Play Quarterback

Before ever playing a down as a Buckeye, Torrance Gibson’s career at Ohio State could be over.  Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College announced on its Twitter account Tuesday morning that Gibson has signed a letter of intent to play for the Bulldogs as a quarterback. https://twitter.com/MGCCCathletics/status/808687143396773891 Gibson committed to Ohio State on Nov. 3, 2014 as a quarterback, but after the return of J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones at quarterback, made the switch to wide receiver in 2015, but did not see any playing time. He played significant reps in the Buckeyes 2016 spring game, catching six passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns.  Just before the start of the 2016 season, Gibson was suspended by the university for the entirety of the autumn semester for what the school called a violation of the student code of conduct.
