Cam Akers, a 5-star RB and top Ohio State target, removes Buckeyes from his list

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five-star running back Cam Akers announced his final group of schools on Tuesday evening and Ohio State wasn’t on the list.  Akers is announcing between Georgia, LSU, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida State and Tennessee on Dec. 27. The decision will be aired lived on the Internet on the High School Football Network. Rated the No. 2 running back in the 2017 recruiting class in the 247Sports composite rankings, Akers was seemingly cooling on Ohio State, so this shouldn’t be a big surprise. He never made an official visit to Columbus during the football season.  Ohio State has a commitment from four-star running back JK Dobbins of La Grange, Texas. There have been rumors that Dobbins would look around if Akers committed to Ohio State.
