Ohio State's Samuel headed for NFL

COLUMBUS — Ohio State’s best offensive player is headed for the National Football League. H-back Curtis Samuel — the only player in the Football Bowl Subdivision who recorded more than 700 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards in the regular season — announced on Twitter that he is leaving OSU with one year of eligibility remaining. The 5-foot-11, 197-pound junior from Brooklyn, N.Y. led the Buckeyes in receiving in 2016 and scored the game-winning touchdown against Michigan in double overtime. Samuel becomes the fifth Buckeye to declare early, joining safety Malik Hooker, cornerback Gareon Conley, linebacker Raekwon McMillan, and wide receiver Noah Brown.
