Top 20 most important Buckeyes: No. 17 Jalyn Holmes


The college football season has come to a close. As part of our year-end review of Ohio State’s 2016 season, we will be counting down the 20 most important contributors to the Buckeyes this year. We will release one per day until we reach the top spot. Jalyn Holmes Out of high school, Holmes had his pick of schools interested in him. The 4-star prospect was the fourth-ranked defensive end in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite and could have gone nearly anywhere country. Had things worked out differently, the Norfolk, VA native could have played in the last two national championship games for either Clemson or Alabama. Instead he chose the Buckeyes and has become a part of a deep defensive line rotation under Larry Johnson.
