Official: Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith Added To CFP Committee

The College Football Playoff and Ohio State confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Buckeyes athletic director Gene Smith will be joining the CFP selection committee, beginning a three year term.  Smith, who has been Ohio State’s athletic director since 2005 is one of three members added to the committee joining former Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and Robert Morris University President Chris Howard. “This is a tremendous honor and privilege to be appointed to this committee,” Smith said. “The sport of football has given so much to me and I feel extremely fortunate to have this opportunity to be able to give back.” Smith played football collegiately at Notre Dame in the 1970’s where he won a national title in 1973.
