Defensive line will lead the way for Ohio State to start 2017


COLUMBUS – According to Urban Meyer, Ohio State was a year away when it made the College Football Playoff before an epic collapse in a 31-0 loss to Clemson to end last season. If he is correct, and the Buckeyes are to be a national championship contender in 2017, it seems the defensive line is going to have to pave the way, at least to start the year. According to Pro Football Focus’ list of the top-10 returning players in the Big Ten, OSU has four and three of them are defensive lineman. On Monday, ESPN’s Brian Bennett wrote a story on each Big Ten team’s strength heading into 2017 and for the Buckeyes he selected the pass rush, led mostly by the Scarlet and Gray’s front four.
