After leading by as many as eight points during the first half and then trailing by nine during the second, Ohio State used a 9-0 run late in the second half to reclaim the lead and got a game-winning layup from Jae’Sean Tate with three seconds left to steal a 71-70 win in front of an announced crowd of 7,343. The win means a victory Saturday at home against Indiana will allow the Buckeyes (17-13, 7-10 Big Ten) to avoid playing on the opening day of next week’s Big Ten tournament and gives coach Thad Matta 150 career conference wins.
