Why Kyle Trout remains at Ohio State

COLUMBUS – When Ohio State opened spring practice on Tuesday, perhaps the biggest surprise was the presence of offensive lineman Kyle Trout. The fourth-year player announced in late January that he would join former Buckeye co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell and transfer to Cincinnati after seeing limited playing time at OSU. Yet Trout was at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and on the field for the Scarlet and Gray and apparently will remain with the program through spring football. “We’re going to let him practice because he can’t transfer until he graduates,” head coach Urban Meyer explained. “Kyle’s a wonderful guy and he’s going to have an opportunity I believe to graduate and (do) that graduate transfer, which I think is a great rule.
