When it comes to high profile recruits, Ohio State is having another outstanding year. Urban Meyer and his Buckeyes just got another commitment from a 5-star recruit in defensive tackle Taron Vincent, meaning Ohio State, according to 247Sports composite rankings, has now added a 5-star recruit in its last eight recruiting classes. In other words, Meyer and his staff have had a 5-star recruit every year since 2011, with 2010 being the last year the Buckeyes did not have a recruit of the 5-star variety. In the same vein, 2017 was the first Buckeyes recruiting class since 2012 to include multiple 5-star prospects. In that group, which as the nation’s second-ranked class overall, Ohio State signed five different 5-star prospects, including the country’s two highest-ranked cornerbacks.
