Saban: Alabama 'played poorly' in Sugar Bowl loss to Ohio State


Nearly two-and-a-half years removed from Ohio State’s 42-35 win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl/College Football Playoff semifinal, Nick Saban is still not over it. The Crimson Tide head coach also gives the Buckeyes zero credit for the win any time he discusses the game. Take his most recent comments to ESPN, which came in the context of him reflecting on Alabama’s loss to Clemson in the 2016 national championship game. “I never got over playing poorly against Ohio State and losing that game late,” Saban said. The Buckeyes led 42-28 following an 85-yard touchdown run by Ezekiel Elliott late in the fourth quarter. So, we’re not sure what Saban is referring to by saying the Tide lost that game late.
