OU Football: Sooners and Ohio State draw primetime assignment for Sept. 9 game

Oklahoma and Ohio State will have a prime-time kickoff in one of college football’s most anticipated games of 2017. The Sept. 9 contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be televised on ABC. Both teams are expected to be major factors in this year’s national championship race. The teams have participated in all three College Football Playoffs (Ohio State in 2014 and 2016, OU in 2015). This will be the Sooners’ first visit back to Columbus in 40 years. OU beat Ohio State 29-28 on Uwe von Schamann’s 41-yard field goal in the final seconds of the 1977 game. Ohio State leads the all-time series 2-1, including last year’s 45-24 victory in Norman. The Buckeyes beat the Sooners 24-14 in 1983, as the visiting school has recorded road win in each matchup of the series.
