According to the Big Ten team’s website, a buckeye is: A small, shiny, dark brown nut with a light tan patch that comes from the official state tree of Ohio, the buckeye tree. Ever wonder how many of them you’d need to fill Ohio Stadium? Probably not, but one Reddit user thought people might want to know, so they did the calculations. According to Scar_Killed_Mufasa, the Horseshoe can hold more than 17 billion buckeyes when the volume of the stadium is calculated with a number of considerations, including the nut’s spherical shape.
