Watch: Ohio State begins 6 a.m. mat drills

Following the end of Ohio State’s football season and the start of spring practice, the Buckeyes take part in winter conditioning. This isn’t the most exciting part of being an OSU football player, but it is a necessary component to have the team ready for the fall. One of strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti’s more well known, and for the players, dreaded, winter activities is the mat drills. The Scarlet and Gray began those this morning at 6 a.m. “The 2018 Buckeyes are about ready to get going,” head coach Urban Meyer said in a video documenting the first mat drill on Ohio State’s official Twitter page.
