COLUMBUS, Ohio — On an emergency episode of our Buckeye Talk Podcast, Doug Lesmerises and Bill Landis try to wrap up a day that ended with Urban Meyer being put on paid administrative leave by Ohio State, and what happens next. The university announced on Wednesday night that Meyer will be on leave while it investigates allegations that Meyer knew about alleged domestic abuse committed by former receivers coach Zach Smith in 2015, an incident Meyer publicly denied knowing anything about. Smith remained on Meyer’s staff for three years following the alleged incident, and was fired on July 23. Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ryan Day will serve as acting head football coach in the interim.
