COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ryan Day is suddenly in charge of the Ohio State football program. It’s still Urban Meyer’s program while the university continues its investigation regarding the head coach and he remains on leave, but Day is running things right now. That’s new territory for him. We laid out the reasons why Day had to be named acting head coach during this time. Football aside — and Day was a sought-after offensive coordinator last year after one year with the Buckeyes — it was also just the smart public relations move.
