Urban Meyer docked more than $570,000 as part of his Ohio State suspension

USA TODAY Ohio State coach Urban Meyer watches his team play against Southern California during the 2017 Cotton Bowl.(Photo: Matthew Emmons, USA TODAY Sports) Urban Meyer was docked more than $570,000 as part of his three-game suspension handed down by Ohio State for the football coach’s handling of domestic violence allegations against a former assistant coach, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday.  Meyer, who is eligible to return to the sideline Saturday when the Buckeyes face Tulane, lost out on $570,507.68, equal to approximately a sixth of his total annual cash compensation.  Ohio State’s Board of Trustees announced Meyer was suspended without pay on Aug. 22, although his lost salary was not disclosed until Tuesday.  Athletic director Gene Smith, who was suspended from Aug. 31-Sept.…
