Three games into the season, the state of Purdue football was quite different than it is this week. After three nail-biting losses to open 2018, fans were starting to wonder if these were the old Boilermakers (3-3, 2-1 Big Ten), the team that over the past decade notoriously never seemed to be able to catch a break. Sitting at the halfway mark of the season, Purdue has been able to find its groove, looking very impressive offensively in the process of beating then-ranked Boston College, Nebraska and Illinois. Things will not be getting easier this week, to say the least. The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes are in West Lafayette for a matchup on Saturday that will probably not be won on the defensive side of the ball.
