College Football Playoff update: Ohio State's crushing loss makes room for Michigan

Ohio State went down, Michigan jumped up and there’s a new top-4 teams with the best chances of making the College Football Playoff, according to ESPN’s Playoff Predictor formula. At the halfway point in the season last week, the four teams with the best shot at the playoff were Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame, in that order. But it seems to be an annual tradition now for the Buckeyes to lose to an unranked team about this time of year. So after their stunning loss to Purdue this weekend, they might still have a path to the playoff, but their chances of actually making it have plummeted.
