Briggs' ballot breakdown: Ohio State back in top 10

ADVERTISEMENT Here goes, a few quick thoughts from my latest ballot in the Associated Press college football poll: ? Is it possible Ohio State lost its bye week too? Maybe, given Purdue’s retreat back to mediocrity in a 23-13 loss at Michigan State and TCU’s season going from bad to embarrassing in a loss to Kansas. The latter result assures the Buckeyes won’t have so much as a single decent nonconference win to take into the playoff discussion. But again, teams do not operate in a vacuum. I moved the Buckeyes up two spots to 10th as a result of losses by Texas and Florida ahead of them. The guess here remains Ohio State (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) and Michigan (7-1, 5-0) win their next three games to set up a winner-take-all showdown for the right to play … ? … Northwestern … in the Big Ten title game?
