In the first edition of the 2018 College Football Playoff Rankings the Ohio State Buckeyes found themselves slotted in at No. 10. The Buckeyes were projected to be towards the top of the rankings prior to their 49-20 beatdown at the hands of the Purdue Boilermakers a few weeks ago, but the defensive issues and inability to run the ball have pushed Ohio State further down into the top-10 given the 7-1 record. Given the difficulties that the Buckeyes have had heading into the bye week, that positioning seems fair, especially when you consider that they control their own destiny to come back and win the Big Ten Championship.
