Ohio State vs. Michigan State results: Buckeyes' special teams lead blowout win

It was not the referendum on sophomore Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins many expected, but Saturday’s 26-6 victory at Michigan State nonetheless kept the Buckeyes alive in the College Football Playoff hunt. Haskins threw for 227 yards and a touchdown, but he never appeared completely in control against one of the better secondaries in the nation. Still, his ability to avoid costly turnovers allowed punter Drue Chrisman to pin the Spartans inside the 20 on six occasions, with many of those kicks being downed near the goal line. The punting game twice led to Ohio State points. After backing the Spartans up inside their own five in the third quarter, Michigan State elected to take a safety rather than risk having a fourth-down kick blocked. On a later drive, the Spartans fumbled a snap inside their end zone, which the Buckeyes recovered for a crucial touchdown. MORE: Watch college football live…
