College football rumors: Ohio State’s Greg Schiano interested in Temple job | Rutgers’ nightmare?

Could Greg Schiano’s long-awaited second chance as a college head coach come a short drive away from Rutgers? The Scarlet Knights’ former coach and current Ohio State defensive coordinator is interested in Temple’s head coaching vacancy, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The newspaper reports it is not clear if Schiano has applied for the job. If he does, there are no guarantees he would get it, or even be a serious candidate. Several names have been floated as replacements for Geoff Collins, who recently left the Owls after two seasons to become Georgia Tech’s head coach. Interim head coach Ed Foley will receive an interview, and Baylor assistant Fran Brown, a former Camden High standout who was previously on the Temple staff, is expected to be a serious candidate as well.
