Ohio State’s 2018 season had plenty of potential. The Buckeyes came into the season ranked No. 5 and many expected the Scarlet and Gray to return to the College Football Playoff for the third time in five years. Ohio State started the season well, earning wins away from home against top-15 teams TCU and Penn State. But for the second time in two years, the Buckeyes were blown out on the road by an inferior opponent. Despite defeating rivals Michigan in record fashion, 62-39, and winning the Big Ten championship for the second consecutive year, the Scarlet and Gray missed the Playoff. A major reason for the expectations coming into the year and the success Ohio State had was due to the talent on the roster.
