Star potential of 'blind' Buckeyes receiver Chris Olave easy to see

The mystery kept gnawing at Ohio State receivers coach Brian Hartline as preseason drills grew whiskers. Wiry wideout Chris Olave, a record-setter from San Marcos Mission Hills High, seemed so smart, grounded and committed. Why was he always the last guy to lock into his spot in the formation when the Buckeyes practiced up-tempo offense? Hartline became frustrated watching a player who hauled in anything thrown his way, while seemingly unable to find his presnap location in a timely way. “One day, I walk into the locker room and grab his glasses,” Hartline said. “I was like ‘Whoa, this kid’s blind.’ I found out he didn’t want to use his contacts because he didn’t want to put something in his eyes.
