On Thursday, the Ohio State defense met with the media ahead of next week’s Rose Bowl, and one of the most noteworthy lines of questioning centered around Buckeye defensive coordinator Greg Schaino. Since being named the successor to outgoing head coach Urban Meyer, the only official coaching move that Ryan Day has made has been to promote interim wide receivers coach Brian Hartline to the position full time. However, he has said that the plan is to officially address what coaches will be returning to Columbus following the bowl game. That led to questions about whether Schiano — a long time friend of Meyer — plans to return to the Buckeyes in 2019 under the new head coach.
