By Heath Schneider LOS ANGELES — The Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Washington Huskies on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, Calif. The Ohio State Alumni Association held their Buckeye Bash that is typical during bowl season. Today it was held outside the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. Buckeye fans from across the nation came out to celebrate their team and to watch head coach Urban Meyer’s final game as the leader as the football program. Rob Almond and his family came in from the Denver, Colorado area. It is his family’s first time to the Rose Bowl. “We knew it was Urban’s last year,” Almond said. “And instead of buying each other Christmas presents, we decided to come to the Rose Bowl and to support the Buckeyes here against Washington.
