COLUMBUS, Ohio — If you can’t beat them, lose your assistant coaches to them. Jim Harbaugh has lost two defensive coaches off his Michigan staff to new Ohio State coach Ryan Day. The good news for Harbaugh is that since receivers coach Jim McElwain left to be the head coach at Central Michigan, and since the running backs coach is Jay Harbaugh, his son, there are really only six more coaches Day could steal, so at some point this will have to stop. For now, it’s on. Day, apparently, admired the Michigan defense while shredding it this season. The Buckeyes dropped 567 yards and 62 points on the Wolverines, the most points ever allowed in regulation by Michigan, and then took their defensive line coach and linebackers coach.
