Women’s Basketball: Ohio State blows 12-point lead in 62-58 loss against Michigan

Credit: Casey Cascaldo | Photo Editor Going into Sunday’s matchup, the Ohio State women’s basketball team (7-9, 3-4 Big Ten) were searching for a low-scoring, defensive matchup against the Michigan Wolverines (12-7, 3-4 Big Ten). While they found the defensive matchup they were looking for, it wasn’t enough, as the Buckeyes blew a 12-point lead to drop the matchup 62-58, their first loss since Jan. 5. The teams went back and forth in the first quarter before the Wolverines took a 19-11 lead with less than a minute remaining. Ohio State freshman forward Aaliyah Patty was fouled on a made layup and completed the three-point play to make the score 19-16 in favor of Michigan as the quarter expired.
