Rutgers’ Big Ten win streak snapped as Ohio State avenges setback

Rutgers’ quest to win back-to-back road games in Big Ten play for the first time ever — and the first time in any conference since 1999-2000 — came up short Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. Despite a 19-point, eight-rebound effort from junior forward Eugene Omoruyi, the Scarlet Knights dropped a 76-62 decision to Ohio State. Kaleb Wesson led all scorers with 27 points on 10-for-12 shooting as the Buckeyes avenged a 64-61 setback at the hands of the Scarlet Knights on Jan. 9. With the loss, Rutgers (11-10, 4-7 Big Ten) moved to ninth place in the conference standings, one spot behind Ohio State (14-7, 4-6) with nine regular-season games remaining.
