Much of the suspense may be gone, but today is still National Signing Day for college football – at least in the traditional sense. This is the second year where high school seniors were permitted the chance to sign letters-of-intent for their colleges of choice during a brief signing period in mid-December. For decades prior to that, high school seniors had to wait until the first Wednesday in February to lock in their college choice. In two years, it is apparent that the December signing day is now the primary day for prospects to sign letters-of-intent. However, the February day remains for unsigned prospects. Ohio State signed 15 players on Dec. 19.
