COLUMBUS, Ohio — In 2017, Ohio State signed 11 of the top 100 high school prospects in the nation. In 2018, the Buckeyes signed 13 of the top 100. For the 2019 class that the Buckeyes finished on Wednesday with two final additions to the 15 players they signed in December … they signed four of the top 100. As has been pointed out before, Ohio State’s smaller class of 17 was a reaction to a full roster. “The quality is what I keep going back to,” Ryan Day said Wednesday, now a little more than a month into replacing Urban Meyer as Ohio State’s head coach. “A couple people asked how come it’s not a bigger class. I think some people may not understand you only have 85 scholarships every year. You can only sign up to 85.” Day earns points for respecting the scholarship numbers game.…
