Ohio State Men’s Basketball and head coach Chris Holtmann are partnering with Coaching for Literacy to raise awareness about literacy in America, and to provide support for children struggling to read in Columbus. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, 61 percent of 4th graders in Ohio are not proficient in reading. By teaming up with Coaching for Literacy, Ohio State Basketball is assisting to help change that statistic, as well as encouraging fans to get involved in the cause. Coaching for Literacy has partnered with more than 50 NCAA programs in this season’s Fight for Literacy Games initiative, including Ohio State. On Feb. 7, the Buckeyes will host Coaching for Literacy’s Fight for Literacy Games initiative when they battle the Penn State Nittany Lions at Value City Arena.
